They chase releases, compare labels, and build shelves of bottles that are tasted once, admired, and left behind. The journey keeps moving outward — toward more whisky — but not necessarily deeper understanding.
The Accord Method™ is a different way in.
It reveals the architecture beneath the glass: the balance of weight, sweetness, bitterness, richness, smoke, and alcohol that gives a whisky its shape. Once you can see that structure, your shelf changes.
Every bottle becomes useful again.
The whiskies you already own become components: base, heart, and top notes for new flavours you can build yourself. The Accord Method turns your collection into a working palette — and tasting into creation.
Each lesson is one move of the method — taken in order, they carry you from reading a single whisky to building and refining your own blends.

Independent Spirits Consultant
I've spent the best part of a decade in the spirits industry, working as a Distiller and Blender for some of Irish whisky's most recognised and respected brands. My blends have won international awards, including at the World Whiskey Awards and the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. I've worked across every stage of whiskey production, rising from Distiller to Blender and eventually Head Distiller and Head Blender at Clonakilty Distillery in Cork. Today I work as an independent spirits consultant.
Along the way I built my own approach to blending. Shaped by a parallel study of perfumery, it sits behind several of my award-winning whiskies. I see blending as the next step for enthusiasts who want to push past tasting — there's a revolution waiting to happen in the whiskey community, and it has the power to change the way we enjoy whiskey.
Every purchase of The Accord Method™ online course grants you lifetime access to our online community.
